On November 25, 2019, the Fifth Study and Cultural Tour of Marine Scholarship of China organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Xiamen University opened in Jinquan Building of the University. Lead teachers from five universities including Ocean University of China, Tongji University, Zhejiang University, Harbin Engineering University and Xiamen University, and more than 60 overseas students from 15 countries including Vietnam, Thailand, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria, Spain, Colombia participated in this tour.
The study tour lasted for five days. International students of different colors and languages gathered together to visit the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science (Xiamen University), Dongshan Swire Marine Station, and the Third Institute of Oceanography, MNR. and other scientific research units related to marine undertakings. Moreover, our students also visited Kulangsu and other scenic spots with local characteristics and cultural heritage to learn more about the development and achievements of China’s marine industry and marine science.
